Hello There!

I’m Sabrina. Creator of the writing retreats, creative writer, mother of four children (18, 16, 12, and 3), and a PhD Candidate at Western University. I created these writing retreats to help other parents find the place, time, community, and energy to get their writing done.

I have been writing short stories, poems, and plays since I was a kid. It’s challenging to find the time to do my writing. But when I do carve out that time and get a good chunk of writing done, I feel amazing! I want you to feel the same way at these writing retreats!

Inspiration for The Write Habit Retreats

I’ve attended writing retreats in-person and online, and I find them incredibly helpful to getting more work done in a day than I usually do over many weeks.

Why is that, I asked myself? And how can I create a daily writing habit at home, so I can keep the momentum going from what I accomplish at the writer’s retreat? I wanted to create a writer’s retreat that is productive, but also social. Some of my inspiration or new perspective on things has come from my chats over lunch with other graduate students or professors during a retreat. We share what we are working on, and I learn from them. That mixing of minds and creative energy is what The Write Habit Retreats is all about.

The retreats also have a steady supply of good food and refreshments to fuel your body. As a mother of four who does 95% of the food preparation in our home, I really appreciate how much more time I can squeeze out of the day when someone else cooks the meal and takes care of the dishes. We’ve got breakfast, lunch, and afternoon brownies taken care of for you for the day. All you have to do is show-up with your laptop and ready to write.

Happy Writing & Dreaming!
